Welcome to Muddy Dog Creations! I’m Emily — the creative mind (and hands) behind it all. What started as a simple hobby quickly grew into a full-time passion for designing and crafting unique, handmade pieces that spark joy and creativity.

✨ How It All Began

A few years ago, I bought an xTool laser cutter with the sole intention of making personalized door signs for myself. Little did I know that little machine would open up an entirely new world of creative possibility! I started by purchasing SVG files, then spent countless hours learning, experimenting, and eventually designing my own. Crafting and design have always been in my heart — and it felt natural to share that love with others who enjoy creating just as much as I do.

Not long after, I discovered epoxy and resin art — and fell in love with how color, texture, and imagination could come together to make something completely one-of-a-kind. My shop soon grew to include custom resin pieces, original SVG files, and handmade creations, all designed with care and attention to detail.

💧 The Birth of the Picky Pad

The next big chapter started when my grandma had carpal tunnel surgery. During her recovery, she worked with an occupational therapist to strengthen her hands, wrists, and fine motor movement. I came across a silicone “picky pad” meant for hand exercises — and while she loved the idea, the silicone was too tough and designed for one-time use, which wasn’t sustainable or affordable long-term.

After months of research, testing, and trial-and-error, I developed a completely new material — a reusable, remeltable gel base that was softer, safer, and more eco-friendly. That’s how the Picky Pad was born — a sensory fidget and fine-motor strengthening pad that can be remade over and over again. Each one is handmade in small batches, often scented with peppermint and lavender essential oils (or unscented by request), and designed to be both relaxing and endlessly fun to pick, press, and pour.

Today, Muddy Dog Creations is known for its reusable, remeltable Picky Pads, DIY kits, and creative sensory products that bring joy to kids, adults, therapists, and fidget lovers alike. Every Picky Pad is handmade with care — from the gel base to the unique bead designs — and can be customized to match your style, theme, or sensory preference.

🐾 A Little About the Name

When I’m not in my craft room, you’ll find me outdoors with my husband and our two incredibly spoiled dogs — the inspiration behind the name Muddy Dog Creations. Because let’s be honest… muddy paws are just part of the adventure!
